The University of Leicester Mountaineering Club

We are the climbing, scrambling and mountaineering hub of the University of Leicester. The club offers both climbing and social activities to undergraduates and postgraduates studying at the university, from curry and film nights to bouldering competitions and scrambling in the Lakes.

Being a club of 40 members the club feels big enough to always have someone to climb with, while small enough to have a very social and friendly feel. Regular destinations include Snowdonia, the Peak District and Pembrokeshire. Here members from all backgrounds and skill levels can experience trad climbing, sport climbing, deep water soloing, outdoor bouldering and mountaineering. Our members have a wealth of knowledge and training, often taking new members under their wing to go from never having climbed before to leading huge multi pitch trad routes within their first year!
